October 19th Release - Chat Redesign, Lesson Section Updates, and more.

Chat has been redesigned

The chat is now on its new design throughout:

  • A redrawn header, with the sidebar toggle moved into it.

  • The chat history panel follows the new organise flow, and no longer folds itself away when you send a message, start a voice call, or open Help or Create.

  • Filing a chat into a project offers every project, as a menu or a dialog, and an Undo that never overwrites a newer filing.

  • Follow-up suggestions appear inline under the reply that offered them.

  • A new attach menu and a Listening pill, sharing one @mention list.

  • The files panel gained a count, type filters and a line of detail per file.

  • Your level view was reworked, a lifetime total, an Open button, and gains shown as a pill over the level marker.

  • A new voice call screen, which now shows your AI's whole answer.

Your draft no longer disappears

What you have typed now survives a reload, a page change and starting a new chat. If you reload mid-sentence, your text is still there.

The sending logic was rebuilt around it, so a draft restored after a reload is sent exactly once, never twice, never silently dropped.

Longer answers, and no more cut-off replies

  • Your AI's typed replies can now run much longer without being cut off mid-output.

  • If your AI was in the middle of using a tool when a reply was truncated, it now answers you instead of leaving the turn hanging.

  • Sending the same message twice in a row is held back only once the server has actually taken the first one.

Voice updates

  • You can pause and resume a recording instead of starting over.

  • The new voice note sheet starts recording as soon as it opens, and the saved screen closes straight away.

  • The voice toggle stays reachable while a reply is being read aloud, and the balance now counts credits correctly.

Lesson sections hold more than words

A text section now has a + that adds a picture, video, table, shape, clock or number line — each one dragged above or below the words. There is a + on every block, sections can hold any number of items, and they survive changing the section's type. Text and PDF items can be added too, and your course AI can read them.

Captions and transcripts on course videos

  • Add captions and a transcript to a course video.

  • Import a whole folder of transcripts onto a course's videos at once.

  • Captions survive editing, and are dropped when you replace the video.

  • Captions start from where the video is, without the player jumping.

Courses: maths, tables and correctness

  • Maths typed in LaTeX is now drawn, rather than shown as raw text.

  • Imported tables arrive as tables, including merged cells and unusual row spans.

  • Powers in an answer choice no longer have odd gaps around them.

  • A lesson whose only text is your own now completes properly.

  • Publishing is refused while a quiz still holds placeholder answers, with the reason shown wherever you publish from.

  • A guest can see a video section that has no video in it yet.

And learners no longer receive answer keys. A delivered quiz, the authored course, the lesson-ready check and Teach it Back answers were each sending more than they should. All four now withhold the answers.

Smaller things

  • An iPhone photo (HEIC) is now shown rather than refused.

  • You can refer to a file you have attached by name in chat.

  • A remix now records that everyone appearing in it agreed.

  • Stopping a generation after approving it now actually cancels it.

  • A visitor's next message is never answered with the previous reply.
